Two great records next week (or one great record and a record from a band that I'm in)! Here are a couple mp3s in the interim:

Our SXSW showcase is real! With a venue! And a date/time! Maybe too good to be true, but here are the details:

ERO @ SXSW, Friday 3/14 at Fado Patio
214 W 4th St
Austin, TX 78701

Here's the lineup:
8 PM - Coconut Coolouts
9 PM - The Fall-Outs
10 PM - Unnatural Helpers

Also, take a look at sombr.ero.com. There's a link to it up at the top of the page. It's kind of like MySpace or Facebook or whatever except not run by the CIA or News Corp.

Happy 2008! There's a ton of stuff going on, and most of it's great, so I'll just get into it.

RELEASE DATES We have release dates set for a bunch of records:

Both Fall-Outs records are the first digital issues of two great records that came out on Steve Turner's (of Mudhoney fame) Super Electro label. I'm super honored to have the opportunity to make these records available digitally--they're classic records by a band that I love. All the releases will be available on iTunes, Emusic, Rhapsody, Amazon's download store and of bunch of other digital outlets.

SXSW The Fall-Outs, Unnatural Helpers, and Coconut Coolouts will all be performing at SXSW this year. Everyone will be playing the ERO showcase (we're still waiting on the specifics), and hopefully a bunch of other events during the week. We'll all be down there Thursday 3/13 through Saturday 3/15 so come find us and hang out. I'll post show specifics as they become available.

Actual Pain stuff is all over the Winner's Circle on Olive. I ordered the anitchrist crew neck sweatshirt--and I'm stupid excited.

I also seemed to forget to link to the Coconut Coolouts KDVS performance. Thanks to DJ Rick for having us, we were a bit worn out and bloated on fast food by the time we got there, but Davis was great.

I'm also adding the mix club mixes to ERO Radio so tune in if you want to hear any of that stuff. There's also a bunch of other great stuff on there (including Lonesome Shack, Unnatural Helpers, The Fall-Outs, and the Coconut Coolouts) so it wouldn't hurt you to try it out anyway.

Lots of new posts on the Mix Tape blog.

There's a new Coolouts seven-inch out on Seeing Eye Records. There are four songs on this one including (but not limited to) "Head Full of Stones" and "Pizza Regret."

Also, Lacey has posted a ton of pictures from our recent west coast tour on her Flickr page. If you want to see us or Tyvek doing foolish things, this is your chance.

The Stranger posted our brief, mostly factual tour diary on their Line Out blog. That's also interesting, or at least as interesting as any of the rest of our antics.

The Coconut Coolouts just got back from a barnbender of a micro tour with Nice Smile and Detroit's favorite Honda-rock crew, Tyvek. If you missed it, you missed a whole lot of fun. Highlights included: Pete-za Party jumping off the top rope aiming an elbow at Nuckinfutz, Teen Wolf surfing on a Taco truck outside of Budget Rock, the evolution of the Coconut Coolouts from a "party" band to a "shopping" band, some ultimate shredding on the part of Tyvek, and the consumption of at least a billion tacos, some form said taco truck and others from elsewhere.

HOT DOGS! Last week the sharp and prolific Derek Erdman had an opening for his show at Anne Bonny, the lovely gallery/home accoutrements shop on Olive Way. While both the art and the company were great, the cooler full of piping hot wieners in the classic gold foil (as seen above) was the kicker.

The ERO Internet Streaming Radio Station is up and running. Just click the preceeding link or the one marked "radio" in the header and you should be kicked into iTunes, WinAmp or some other appropriate stream player. Most of the music described on the site (including the mix tapes) is or should be on the station, in addition to some other stuff that we really like. I also hope to have guests and/or regular shows in short order--friends who want to DJ should email me!
